Finally arriving at a much-anticipated moment, graduands of AKU’s Class of 2022 walked across the stage under the beautiful shamiyana structure set up at AKU’s campus in Karachi — and across similar stages at AKU’s campuses in Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, and Kampala. Princess Zahra delivered a convocation address to guests, which included a special message from Mawlana Hazar Imam.

The Key to the City of Toronto was awarded to Mawlana Hazar Imam at a special ceremony hosted today at the Ismaili Centre in Toronto, during which a segment of Wynford Drive was ceremonially named Aga Khan Boulevard.

Prince Amyn accepted the honours on behalf of Hazar Imam and thanked Mayor John Tory and the City of Toronto for the special gesture.

The conference aims to raise awareness and action around the alarming degradation of the planet’s oceans – which not only provide us with oxygen, food and livelihoods, but act as a giant carbon sink.

An Iftar dinner was hosted at the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon, earlier this week, attended by President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Princess Zahra, and Prince Hussain. Representatives of fellow faith communities, diplomats, and government officials were invited to break the fast alongside leaders of the Jamat and the Aga Khan Development Network.
